Day 1- Arrival at Paro Airport

Upon landing, take in the fresh mountain air and the breathtaking scenery that surrounds Paro airport. Our team will be there to greet you and assist with your arrival procedures. We'll take you to your hotel where you can freshen up and relax after your journey. Once you're ready, we'll embark on a sightseeing tour around Paro. Explore the charming town, visit cultural landmarks, and immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of Bhutan. While exploring Paro, keep an eye out for any feathered inhabitants. Paro is known for its diverse birdlife, and you may encounter some local species during your sightseeing. Bhutan is rich in culture, and Paro is home to historical sites such as the Paro Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery. Depending on your arrival time, you might explore some of these cultural gems. After a day of exploration, enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at your hotel in Paro.

Day 2- Paro - Acclimatization Hike to Paro Taktshang (Tiger’s Nest)

After a good night's rest, enjoy a hearty breakfast at your hotel, fueling up for the day's adventures. Today's highlight is an acclimatization hike to the iconic Paro Taktsang, also known as Tiger’s Nest. Perched on a Cliffside, this monastery is one of Bhutan's most famous and sacred sites. The hike takes you through lush forests, providing not only stunning views but also an opportunity to acclimatize to the altitude. Take a break for lunch, perhaps enjoying a picnic with scenic views. In the afternoon, take a leisurely stroll around Paro town. Explore local markets, interact with friendly locals, and absorb the unique charm of this Bhutanese town. Spend the rest of the day preparing for the upcoming trek. Ensure you have all necessary gear and familiarize yourself with the trekking route. Enjoy a delicious Bhutanese dinner, savoring the local flavors and specialties. Rest at your hotel, knowing that you've acclimatized to the altitude and are ready for the trekking and experiences that await you in the coming days.

Day 3- Paro-Kila Goenpa Hike (Acclimatization)-Sharna Zampa

The trek covers a distance of 15 kilometers.

Chele La stands at an impressive height of 13084 ft (3988m), making it one of the highest vantage points in Bhutan. This elevation promises breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The trek offers spectacular views of the snow-capped Mountain Jomolhari, which rises to 7326 meters. This iconic Himalayan peak adds to the allure of the trek, providing a stunning backdrop to the entire journey. The hike begins by ascending uphill from the right side of the road. This suggests that the trail starts relatively accessible, and hikers can quickly immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the area. As you ascend just a few minutes from the road, you're rewarded with great views of both Paro and Thimphu valleys. This allows trekkers to appreciate the diverse and picturesque landscapes that Bhutan has to offer. In addition to Mount Jomolhari, the trek provides views of other Himalayan peaks. This diversity in scenery adds to the richness of the trekking experience. Described as moderate, the trek seems suitable for those with a reasonable level of fitness. Hikers should be prepared for the challenges that come with moderate terrain and the high altitude. The trek covers a distance of 4.2 km, which, coupled with a walking time of 3 hours, indicates a moderate pace. The duration allows trekkers to fully appreciate the surroundings without being overly strenuous.

After lunch the trek commences from the historic Drugyel Dzong, located 12 kilometers north of the Paro valley. This dzong holds historical significance and adds cultural depth to the start of your journey. The initial part of the trail follows a wide path along the Pa Chhu (Paro River), providing scenic views and a gentle start to the trek. As the trail ascends, you'll walk through the countryside, passing by rice paddies, millet fields, apple orchards, and traditional Bhutanese farmhouses. This allows you to witness the rural landscapes and agricultural practices. The trek takes you through small settlements like Mitshi Zampa and Sangatan, offering glimpses of local life and architecture. Following the route through a blue pine forest adds a natural and serene dimension to the trek. You'll reach the Gunitsawa army post at 2810 meters, where your trekking permits will be checked and stamped. This is a standard procedure for trekking in Bhutan. After the army post, the trail continues with a climb towards Sharna Zampa, situated at an altitude of 2870 meters. Your campsite for the night is set in the meadows among the trees at Sharna Zampa. This promises a peaceful and natural setting for the first night of your trek.

Day 4- Sharna Zampa- Thang Thangka

The trek covers a distance of 20 kilometers.

The estimated trekking time is 8-9 hours, indicating a longer and more challenging day compared to the previous one. A significant ascent of 900 meters is involved, showcasing a more demanding elevation gain. Similar to the previous day, the trail continues along the Pachhu (Paro River), providing a scenic backdrop for your trek. The ascent and descent take you through pine, oak, and spruce forests, each contributing to the richness of the trekking experience. After about 2 hours of hiking and crossing several streams, you'll reach Shingkharap, a stone house situated at 3110 meters. This could be a notable landmark along the way. A bridge crossing takes you to the left side of the river, where a hot lunch is served. At this point, you'll encounter a trail junction. The left road represents an old trade route to Tibet, while the right route leads to the wooden bridge. Your path follows the latter route. Climbing through rhododendron forests adds a vibrant and colorful element to your trek. Crossing the bridge again marks a significant point in your journey. The day concludes as you reach your camp at Thang Thangka, situated at an altitude of 3750 meters. This camp is set amidst beautiful meadows, offering a serene and picturesque setting for the night.

Day 5- Thang Thangka-Jangothang Base

Covering a distance of 17 kilometers over 4-5 hours with a 290-meter ascent.

The journey involves a notable gain in altitude, reaching an elevation of 4040 meters at the campsite. The day begins with an ascent from your camp, leading you to an army camp. As you follow the river above the tree line, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain peaks. Passing through a muddy section and a mani wall, you'll enter yak country. A highlight of the day is lunch at a yak herder's camp, where you can refuel and enjoy the local surroundings. Yaks are commonly herded in this region. After lunch, your trek takes you past yak herder settlements of Soe and Takethang. People in this region cultivate crops such as barley, potatoes, and turnips. Following lunch, the trail leads across a plateau and up a stream bed. The landscape will likely vary, offering diverse scenery along the way. You'll pass by Dangochang village, adding cultural and local elements to your trekking experience. Finally, you'll arrive at the beautiful campsite of Jangothang, situated at an altitude of 4040 meters. The panoramic views of Mount Jumolhari and Jichu Drake from this point are described as breathtaking, providing a stunning backdrop for your camping experience.

Day 6- Acclimatization and exploration at Jangothang

You will embark on a four-hour acclimatization hike to the north of your camp. Although there may not be a defined trail, you'll climb on an open and endless slope. The destination offers a stunning view of Mt Jichu Drakye (6989m). For those seeking an even more spectacular view, there's the option to hike further up to 4895m, surpassing the height of Mount Blanc. This vantage point provides an amazing perspective of Mount Jumolhari. Keep an eye out for the diverse wildlife, including rare blue sheep, Himalayan rhubarb, griffon vultures, golden eagles, and the national flower – the blue poppy.The foreground below Mount Jumolhari and Jichu Drake is the Jangothang base. This flat grassy land holds the ruins of an old fortress on a hillock. It's recommended for trekkers to halt here as many may experience signs of mountain sickness at this altitude. After your acclimatization hike and exploration, you'll have the option to either rest in camp or continue hiking. Regardless of your choice, it's promised to be a very memorable day filled with stunning views and the unique flora and fauna of the region.

Day 7- Jangothang-Lingzhi

Covering 18 kilometers over 6-7 hours

The day begins by following the stream for approximately half an hour before crossing a bridge to the right side. This sets the stage for the upcoming ascent. The trail then leads you to climb up to the first ridge, where you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of Jumolhari (7314m), Jichu Drake (6989m), and Tsherim Gang (6789m). This promises to be a memorable moment, capturing the grandeur of the Himalayan peaks. Following the ridge, you'll walk on an almost flat track for some time as you traverse the valley. The landscape is likely to vary, providing a mix of terrains throughout the day. The trek involves a climb to Ngye La pass at an altitude of 4700m. The pass offers spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, including Jumolhari and Jichu Drake. After reaching the pass, a gradual descent follows. During the descent, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy the panoramic views of the peaks and the historic Lingshi Dzong. If time allows, a detour to this tiny fortress, perched on a hilltop overlooking Lingzhi village, is recommended. The dzong served as a way station for Buddhist pilgrims and a defense fort against Tibetan and Mongol invaders for centuries. The day concludes with setting up camp at an altitude of 4010m, providing a well-deserved rest after the day's trek.

Day 8- Lingzhi-Chebisa

Covering 12 kilometers over 5-6 hours

The day begins with a visit to the Lingshi Dzong, perched on a hilltop. The dzong offers breathtaking views of green hills, meandering rivers, and magnificent peaks. As a way station for Buddhist pilgrims and a defense fort against Tibetan and Mongol invaders for centuries, it holds historical and cultural significance. Today is described as an easy day with pleasant walks through villages and yak herders' camps. This provides an opportunity to soak in the local culture, observe traditional practices, and enjoy the serene landscapes. After a leisurely morning walk, you'll take a break for lunch, likely surrounded by the natural beauty of the Bhutanese countryside. Following lunch, a short walk will lead you to Chebisa, a charming village adorned with a beautiful crystal-clear waterfall. This picturesque setting adds to the charm of your trek. The day concludes with setting up camp by the side of a stream at an altitude of 3850m. The soothing sound of flowing water and the peaceful surroundings provide a tranquil setting for your overnight stay.

Day 9- Chebisa-Shoumuthang

Covering 17 kilometers over 6-7 hours

The day begins with a steep climb up a ridge leading to Gogu La pass at an elevation of 4500m. This challenging ascent is expected to take nearly four hours. Keep an eye out for rare blue sheep, which are often spotted on the rocks near the top of the pass. After reaching the Gogu La pass, your route will involve a descent where you'll pass through rhododendron bushes. The descent offers a change in scenery and vegetation as you make your way to a designated lunch stop. In the afternoon, you'll continue your trek along a trail characterized by scattered ascents and descents. This variety in the terrain keeps the journey interesting as you navigate through the beautiful landscape. The trail will take you across streams, through rhododendron forests, and past yak herders' camps. Each section of the trail presents a different aspect of the region's natural beauty. As part of your trekking route, you'll arrive at Shakepasa, situated at an altitude of 3980m. This could be a notable point for a rest or a brief exploration. Beyond Shakepasa, the trek involves a steep climb to the northern side of the valley. Passing by a few yak herders' camps, you'll continue your ascent. The day concludes with reaching the campsite located beside a stream at an altitude of 4250m. The sound of flowing water and the mountainous backdrop provide a serene setting for your overnight stay.

Day 10- Shoumuthang to Robluthang

Covering distance 17 kilometers over 6-7 hours

Your trek commences with a walk through an edelweiss-bound trail. This part of the journey likely introduces you to the unique and delicate alpine flora of the region. The trail then leads you to a challenging climb up to Jari La pass, situated at an altitude of 4700 meters. This ascent promises breathtaking views, and on a clear day, you'll be able to spot the snow-capped peak Kangbum at 6526 meters to the south-east. Following the pass, you'll descend into the Tsarijathang valley. This valley serves as the summer residence for the rare Himalayan Takins, which holds the distinction of being the national animal of Bhutan. This segment of the trek offers unique wildlife and scenic views. As you continue, be prepared for stream crossings without footbridges. These crossings might require careful navigation as footbridges are often washed away. It adds an adventurous touch to your trekking experience. After successfully crossing the stream, the trail ascends to the left, guiding you to Robluthang. This rocky meadow camp is situated at an altitude of 4200 meters. The campsite provides a rugged and picturesque setting for your overnight stay.

Day 11- Robluthang-Lingmithang

Covering Distance 19 kilometers over 7-8 hours

The highlight of the day is crossing the highest pass in your entire trek. The climb takes you through boggy patches, and you'll encounter streams, marmot holes, and moraine along the trail. The journey leads you to the top of Shingchen La pass, situated at an impressive altitude of 5005 meters. From this vantage point, you'll be rewarded with a stunning view of the snow-covered Gangchenta, also known as the Tiger Mountain (6840m), filling the northern horizon. After soaking in the breathtaking mountain views, the trail descends through a rough and rocky path, following the moraine river valley to the Kango Chhu River. The descent involves navigating a narrow and challenging trail, potentially requiring stream crossings that might get you wet. Following the descent, you'll walk through cedar forests, adding a change in scenery to your trek. Lingmithang, your destination for the day, is a beautiful campsite with scattered meadows by the river, and the imposing Tiger Mountain (Gangchenta) towering behind your campsite.

Day 12- Lingmithang-Laya

Covering Distance: 10 kilometers over 4-5 hours

The day begins with waking up to a superb view of Gangchenta peak, providing a stunning start to your morning. The walk to Laya is described as very pleasant with wonderful views. This segment likely allows you to appreciate the natural beauty of the surroundings, offering a contrast to the more challenging terrain of previous days. As you progress, you'll pass through a damp forest filled with moss and the melodies of singing birds. The forested section adds a serene and picturesque element to your trek. Along the trail, you'll also encounter a waterfall, contributing to the scenic beauty of the landscape. The trail takes you through an uninhabited valley, allowing you to immerse yourself in the untouched and natural wilderness. This part of the journey might provide a sense of tranquility and remoteness. As you continue, you'll reach a junction where the upper route will lead you to fields spotted with stone houses. This change in scenery might offer a glimpse into the local architecture and landscape of the region.The day concludes with your arrival at Laya village, which is the second-highest settlement in the country, situated at an altitude of 3800 meters. Laya is known for its unique culture, distinctive traditional dress, and the warmth of its residents.

Day 13- Rest day at Laya

Take the day to explore the charming Laya village. Stroll through its streets, interact with the locals, and immerse yourself in the unique culture and traditions of this high-altitude settlement. Extend your exploration by visiting some of the houses in the village. Bhutanese hospitality is a significant aspect of the culture, and locals often welcome visitors warmly. Don't be surprised if you're invited into someone's home for a cup of tea or Chang, the local wine. It's a chance to experience the warmth and friendliness of the Bhutanese people. Pay attention to the distinctive attire of the people in Laya, particularly the women. Women in this region are known for their conspicuous attire, which often includes conical bamboo hats adorned with turquoise and silver ornaments. Take the time to appreciate the cultural significance and craftsmanship behind these traditional garments. Whether you choose to unwind in the village, sit by a scenic spot, or engage in conversations with the locals, make the most of this rest day. Laya offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural richness, providing a perfect setting for relaxation and reflection.

Day 14- Laya-Gasa

Covering Distance: 9 kilometers over 6-7 hours

Begin your day by descending to the army camp and joining the Mo Chhu, the Mother River of Punakha. Following the river, you'll experience the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. After following the river, you'll cross a bridge, marking a transition in your journey. Beyond the bridge, the trail involves several ascents and descents through juniper and fir forests. The forested terrain adds a different dimension to your trekking experience. You'll eventually reach Koena at an altitude of 3800 meters. Here, you'll meet your car and driver, marking the point where you transfer to Gasa village. The drive from Koena to Gasa village takes you through fir, spruce, and rhododendron forests. Descending almost 1250 meters, you'll arrive at Gasa, providing a change in scenery from the high-altitude trekking terrain. Upon reaching Gasa, you have the opportunity to relax and unwind with a dip in the Tshachu, or the hot spring, located below your camp. The hot spring is known for its therapeutic properties, offering relief from any muscle aches accumulated during the trek. The day concludes with camping at Gasa at an altitude of 2900 meters. This marks the end of the trekking portion of your journey.

Day 15- Gasa-Punakha-Paro

After breakfast drive Paro vai Punakha, that take your time to explore the intricate details of this historic fortress. En route to Thimphu, you'll drive through Dochula Pass. This mountain pass offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas, including a glimpse of the iconic Gangkhar Puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan. It's a perfect spot to capture some memorable photographs. Upon reaching Thimphu, you'll check into your hotel, allowing you to settle in and unwind after the journey. Drive to Kuenselphodrang, where the impressive 169ft giant Buddha statue stands. This iconic landmark is believed to be the largest bronze statue in the world. Explore the area, take in the panoramic views, and capture the grandeur of the statue. The evening is at your leisure. You have the option to explore Thimphu town on your own. This bustling capital city offers a mix of traditional and modern elements, including markets, shops, and cultural sites. You'll spend the night at your hotel in Thimphu, allowing you to rest and prepare for further explorations or activities the next day.

Day 16- Departure

Covering Distance: 54 kilometers over 1 hour

After enjoying breakfast, you will embark on a drive to the airport. The journey is approximately 54 kilometers and is expected to take about 1 hour. Upon reaching the airport, our representative will bid you farewell. This marks the conclusion of your Bhutanese journey.
